Bede’s Pupils’ fundraising efforts

Pupils from Bede’s Senior School in Upper Dicker have been busy helping a range of causes, including raising £5,000 for the ME Association at a 24 Hour Disco and volunteering their time to pack Christmas Hampers for local charity, ABC Fund.

Earlier this term, pupils from Crossways House donned their dancing shoes to raise £5,000 for the ME Association with their 24 Hour Disco.

Crossways was joined by pupils in other Houses across the School who came to support the event, which featured a playlist of songs from around the world, ME Association wristbands and sweets for sale.

Ms Eli Lopez, Deputy House Mistress of Crossways at Bede’s Senior School, says, “We are so proud of all of the pupils for their fantastic efforts, and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved. We reached the final hour with great spirits and emotion, and raising £5,000 for such a fantastic cause made all the efforts worth it.”

On Monday 4 December, a group of pupils from Stud and Knights Houses at Bede’s Senior School in Upper Dicker volunteered their time to pack bags of food for the ABC Fund.

Marcus Huntly-Peck, Lower Sixth pupil at Bede’s, says, “When we got asked to help with packing bags for the ABC Fund we all knew that it was a task which was, and still is, needed for the benefit of many families who are not as fortunate as we are.

“Packing bags required all the volunteers to work hard, but it was also an enjoyable experience with a packing system to maximise efficiency and Christmas music playing in the background. At the end of the shift, we could see all that our hard work had paid off, knowing that the bags would benefit the local community.”
