Striking buildings and a buzz of of positive energy greets visitors to Bexhill College.

This specialized Sixth Form College has 2,000 students aged 16-19, studying a wide range of qualifications up to level 4.

The College’s single campus provides all the facilities for a high quality educational experience on one site and therefore allows timetables to be tailored so students can mix and match from diverse range of 50 courses.

Consistently outperforming all other post-16 educators in the area, Bexhill College is totally unmatched.

Its winning formula has resulted in sustained performance, with strong academic record alongside success in vocational training, the Arts and its highly regarded Sports Academy of Excellence.

The College has sports academies in twelve different sports, from athletics and golf to swimming and tennis, all with expert coaching. Of particular note is the Colleges Football Academy which is delivered in conjunction with the Chelsea Foundation.Budding stars of the future can focus on their passion for sport, competing regionally and nationally, at the same time as studying for a good all-round education.

Investment in impressive facilities is evident, including new fully-equipped gym. Students benefit from the large field and 3G pitches as well as sports hall featuring climbing wall, and use of neighboring swimming pool.

Enrichment programmed promotes active lifestyle for all students, who can use gym free, and join exercise classes in dance studios.

Students are proud of their college, are pleased to be its ambassadors and have input into promotion including latest slogan – ‘your future’s so bright, you got to wear shades’.
A level results in 2017 were outstanding, with 33 of its 42 subjects achieving 100% pass rate, including chemistry, physics, electronics, all modern foreign languages, English, Medieval and modern history, further maths, computing, politics, PE, film studies, drama, music and geography. Year on year, A level pass rates exceed the national average.

Alongside academic qualifications, almost 460 students completed vocational qualifications, with many receiving distinction stars in their BTEC Extended Diplomas.

In addition to Level 3 vocational courses, Levels 1 and 2 are also available and can be used as a transition for those students who need another year consolidating their level 2 qualifications before progressing to level 3.

Walking around campus reveals the popularity of arts, with spacious corridors providing exhibition areas, many eye-catching paintings and photos displayed on walls, sculptures and textiles in stairwells and corners.

Students can create musical masterpieces in top class recording studio, and state of the art equipment also found in TV studio and editing rooms.

And drama students enjoy hands-on experience at the Izzard Theatre, officially opened by actor and stand-up Eddie Izzard in 2013. As well as attracting audiences from outside during evenings, it provides an ideal setting for drama and performance students to hone their crafts on stage and behind the scenes.

Hair and make-up students work with drama department for productions, and college’s hair salon sits alongside the theatre, as do kitchens for catering students, and numerous music practice rooms.

The College is now developing courses in Animal management with a new small animal house opening soon.

The study centre offers light and peaceful areas for students to work outside of lessons, with computers and laptops available and one-to-one support from staff. With many students travelling an hour or more to attend this outstanding college, plenty of spaces are provided all around the campus for students to meet, work together and share ideas, as well as quietly complete assignments.

A strong emphasis is placed on support to promote healthy, stable students and ensure progression within college and beyond, into higher education and the workplace.

Bexhill College is headline sponsor for jobs fair, helping young people into the world of work and providing bridge with potential employers who can advise on CVs and qualifications required.
